The following excerpt is from a letter received in February 2010 from then Prime Minister Gordon Brown in recognition of Unicom becoming the first telecommunications company to achieve the Customer Service Excellence standard.

"I normally receiving sales calls and I am sure 90% of the population would agree with me. However a couple of weeks ago I received a call from your sales team. I was put on to a gentlemen called Lee Henderson, what a breath of fresh air he was. The first time I called, yesterday 5th October, I spoke with Matt Hodgson, who was remarkably helpful and did everything he said he’d do. The Openreach engineer solved my problem within an hour. In the meantime, Mark had left me a voicemail to inform me that the engineer was dealing with it and this morning rang to check if every thing was ok.
During today, another fault occurred so I called again and unfortunately I didn’t catch the name of the person who I spoke to. When I got off the phone I did what he suggested, and he was absolutely correct!
Everything now appears to be fine.
